Albertina Nugteren has various additional accomplishments to her name. In the years 1991 to 1995 she simultaneously taught classes at the Radboud University, Nijmegen. She gave numerous extra-University talks, for audiences of civil, religious, ethical, or philosophical organisations. She often spoke as a specialist in Indian culture, as an author or co-author of various books, and as a historian of religion.

 

She also taught extended extra-University courses, often on the interface of religion and philosophy, in various settings and for various audiences, and gave several interviews on radio, television, in newspapers, and in periodicals.

 

She was invited to speak as guest professor at various Universities, such as Antwerpen, Calcutta, Delhi, Dhaka, Erfurt, Leuven, and Munich. She actively participated in many worldwide conferences, such as in Berlin, Vienna, London, Torino, Durban (South Africa), Gainesville (Florida), Delhi, Bangkok, San Diego (California), Salzburg, Denpasar (Bali), Perth (Western Australia) and Thimphu (Bhutan).

 

She had/has various management positions, such as within the Dutch branch of ARIES (Association for the academic research of Western esotericism), NGG (Dutch association for the study of religion), and NOSTER (Dutch research school for theology and religious studies). She was also a member of a national accreditation committee (NVAO).

 

Within her position at Tilburg University she was/is active in various managerial and advisory constellations, within her own Department as well as on Faculty and University level.
